I am proud to have been working hard for Galley Common and Whittleford since I was first elected to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council in May 2016. I will continue to work hard for our area and for our residents.
Dog mess and litter are issues I'm often contacted about. I regularly report both and will continue to campaign for more waste bins in problem areas and for action to be taken against irresponsible dog owners who put the health of others at risk.
Children in Galley Common, The Shires, and Whittleford need access to better play areas. There is a clear lack of adequate play parks in this area and the parks we do have are equipped with outdated or inadequate play equipment despite the Council receiving large sums of Section 106 money which has been spent elsewhere.
Off road motorcyclists riding through busy roads, across walkways and around play areas is a an issue I regularly hear of. I have met with this Warwickshire Police to discuss this and am looking at a number of schemes. Residents are urged to report incidents to the police by calling 101. They do have an off road motorcycle team and they have been to Galley Common following talks.
I have campaigned for traffic calming measures in Galley Common & Whittleford and will keep pushing for these to be installed. As a County Councillor I have an annual budget for road improvements and have worked with Highways officers to implement a number of works to improve our roads.
Galley Common has been badly let down in recent years and faces the prospect of having around 700 new houses being built despite the lack of infrastructure. I campaigned against the Golf Course site and will continue to stand up for our area.
